Despite being one of the oldest buildings on The Llanfendigaid Estate, The Cow Shed has been brought meticulously up to date and seamlessly blends traditional elements that hint at its history with more modern-day comforts.
Sleeping six and with a huge open plan living and dining space, The Cow Shed is all on one level and is loved by families as well as groups of friends looking for a contemporary holiday home in Snowdonia. It’s also very dog friendly so you can bring along your pooch too.
A perfect few days
Just arrived home after a perfect few days staying in The Cowshed. The decor, cleanliness and amazing location was second to none. The accommodation had everything and more! Would definitely recommend and will be going again in the near future.

We had a fabulous long weekend at the cowshed - only wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend. The beds are super comfy and it was great to have a bathroom per bedroom.

Did not disappoint
The house is absolutely immaculate and everything is finished to a high spec. Highlights for us were the close proximity to the beach, the indoor pool and the amount of outdoor space and privacy we had. We celebrated the New Year here and could not think of a better place to start 2024.

There’s a host of facilities to enjoy during your stay such as the luxury indoor heated swimming pool, an outdoor table tennis table and private woodland, as well as an abundance of adventures to be had in West Wales.

The Cow Shed’s interior seamlessly blends traditional features with more contemporary comforts. Painted in refreshing greens to reflect its rural location, every room feels connected to the countryside and hills that surround the house. With large windows throughout, natural light floods into the house giving it a welcoming, refreshing air, while the vaulted ceilings provide a rustic appeal.
A truly relaxing space, sink into the large corner sofa to watch TV (there is a Fire Stick so you can connect to Netflix and watch your favourite show) or snuggle in one of the armchairs with a good book. During the colder months, light the wood burning stove and put your feet up while it flickers away. However, the cast iron radiators in every room will keep you toasty.
The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with a brand new SMEG fridge freezer and electric oven, a Quooker hot tap and a state-of-the-art Sage coffee machine. There’s also a washing machine should you wish to keep on top of the laundry during your stay.
The dining area is just a step away from the kitchen and has a table that comfortably seats eight – plus a highchair, if needed. It’s perfect for long luxurious meals and doubles up as a great gaming space if you’re a group that loves cards or board games.
Alternatively, in the private courtyard you’ll find a BBQ and a table and chairs, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining.
The three bedrooms at The Cow Shed are all beautifully decorated with comfort and relaxation in mind. The main bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom as well as doors leading out to the courtyard. A twin bedroom is located right next door so ideal for parents staying with young children. Then you’ll find a bright and airy second double at the other end of the corridor. Whichever room you opt for, soft bed linen, cosy throws and extra cushions will surely lead to sweet dreams.

Outside, the south-facing courtyard is the perfect spot to sit with a morning cuppa or an evening gin and tonic. Sheltered from the main winds, it’s a positive sun trap and unusually warm.
While staying on the estate, you’re welcome to explore the wider grounds. Little ones will love playing on the swing tyre and discovering the table tennis table. Do walk up the hill behind the main house and through the woodland to find the secret bench where you can truly admire the estate’s coastal setting.
